Infinity

                        I saw infinity last night. . .

curled and sleeping in the core

                        of an onion

                        waking to its death

                        as the layers peeled off

                        I saw infinity last night. . .

lying and waiting in the center

                        of a rose

                        disappearing into nothing

                        as the petals fell down

                        I saw infinity last night. . .

pulsing and undulating in the middle

                        of a pond-ripple

                        shrinking away into stillness

                        as the waves traveled outwards

                        I saw infinity last night. . .

playing and laughing in the heart

                        of the universe

                        escaping into forever

                        as my thoughts flew away
